Meet Tiffani Michalenko
The face behind Lenko Design and @lenkodesign!
Tiffani grew up as a military dependent where she and her family moved every 3-4 years. Moving to a new home so frequently instilled into her at a young age the art of redesigning a space. Every new home posed new challenges of how to arrange furniture as well as the opportunity for her to refresh her bedroom with new decor. Tiffani’s interest in interior design peaked in high school with the hype of HGTV shows. She knew then that she wanted to be a designer. In 2009, Tiffani earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with a Concentration in Interior Design from the University of West Georgia.
After many years spent working for various design firms across the Southeast, Tiffani resigned from her corporate design position to focus on her growing family. During this time of reflection, she discovered Home Staging and how much of an impact it can have on the home seller and buyer. Her true passion is to help her clients achieve their design goals. Sharing her expertise, is your success.
Ask the Designer…
Why “Lenko Design”?
I decided to shorten my last name Michalenko to just Lenko, because just about everyone has a difficult time pronouncing it!
In your career, what types of projects have you worked on the most?
The bulk of my design career has been redesigning kitchens and bathrooms. I found that focusing on such a distinct niche became a bit boring after a while because after so many kitchen and bathroom projects, they all started to blur together and most of the clients I worked with wanted the same white and grey trend that has since faded.
Why did you decide to become a home stager?
I decided I wanted to be a Home Stager after staging my own home. I saw first hand the value of strategically placing furniture to make the home feel more appealing. No home is the same, so I felt that the home staging industry would offer me design creativity while working towards finding quick solutions for home sellers.
What types of decor would we find in Tiffani’s home?
In my own home, you can find antiques blended with new furnishings to fit my casual yet refined design style.
